How to apply

Students initially choose to study four AS Levels during their first year. They then can continue to the A2 modules, dependant on performance. Students who cover both AS and A2 work will be awarded an A level qualification. For those students who wish to only study the subject for one year, an AS qualification is awarded.

The curriculum has been designed to offer choice and a breadth of opportunities including those subjects not previously encountered: Photography, Economics and Psychology to name but a few.

For some who wish to attend the Sixth Form but who have not attained the required grades at GCSE, an Access course is available. This acts as a gateway into Sixth Form education.

No matter what combination you initially choose, the need for discussion is vital. There are individual subject requirements as well as the overall entrance policy of 5.5 A*-C grades at GCSE.

Admission

There is a College Open Evening at the end of November where subject staff will be available to discuss their subjects. This is the opportunity to ask those important questions about courses and how they are taught.

Application to the Sixth Form is via the application form available directly from the College. The closing date for applications is the last Friday of the Autumn Term. Applications after this date will be considered but subject choice may be restricted.

All applicants will be interviewed regarding their attitude towards study, subject choice and their future aspirations.

Decision on entry will be confirmed in writing shortly after this interview.

VI College Application Form
Please return the sixth form application to the address on the reverse of the application. Although we prefer applications in at the end of December we would not turn down late applications. All students that apply will be interviewed and will need to meet the relevant entry requirements.
