Students initially choose to study four AS Levels during their first year. They then can continue to the A2 modules, dependant on performance. Students who cover both AS and A2 work will be awarded an A level qualification. For those students who wish to only study the subject for one year, an AS qualification is awarded.
The curriculum has been designed to offer choice and a breadth of opportunities including those subjects not previously encountered: Photography, Economics and Psychology to name but a few.
No matter what combination you initially choose, the need for discussion is vital. There are individual subject requirements as well as the overall entrance policy of 5.5 A*-C grades at GCSE, of which 3 should be from full Course GCSE qualifications.
Admission
There is a College Open evening in January where subject staff will be available to discuss their subjects. This is the opportunity to ask those important questions about courses and how they are taught.
Application to the Sixth Form is via the application form available directly from the College. The closing date for applications is the last day in February. Applications after this date will be considered but subject choice may be restricted.
All applicants will be interviewed regarding their attitude towards study, subject choice and their future aspirations. Decision on entry will be confirmed in writing after interview.
