Subjects and Curriculum

The school's curriculum provides a broad, balanced and relevant education for all our pupils/students. The National Curriculum contains certain subjects, identified as Core and Foundation, details of which can be obtained from the school or from the Department for Education and skills web site (www.dfes.gov.uk).

Year 7 lessons are usually taught in ability based groups. Subsequent year groupings are arranged at the discretion of individual departments. Currently English, Science, Maths and Modern Languages set according to ability. This may change slightly as the size of the school increases and other groupings of classes become possible.
