Key Stage 4
The Geography Department follows Edexcel’s GCSE Geography A Specification, which has a set of core units and two optional units allowing themes to be studied at depth.
Core Units:
The physical world
The human world
The natural world
The economic world
Optional Units:
Managing hazards
Managing tourism
Assessment: The course is assessed in two tiers. Foundation Tier candidates take Paper 1F, 2F and submit one piece of coursework. This tier is aimed at grades C to G. Higher Tier candidates take Paper 3H, 4H and also submit one piece of coursework. This tier is aimed at grades A* to D.

Fieldwork: This is carried out in the summer term of Year 10 and consists of an urban study, with pupils visiting Norwich or Ipswich to collect primary data to answer a series of questions or to test a hypothesis.
