The A2 course consists of two separate examinations.
Global Issues (F762)
This examination is in two sections. Candidates answer five questions in total. Three questions are answered in section A and a further two questions in section B.
In section A, candidates must answer three questions. These three will be chosen from a selection of Environmental and Economic issues. One question will be set on each of the options. Candidates must answer at least one question from Environmental issues and one from Economic issues. Therefore, you will answer questions in one of the two following combinations:
These questions will typically consist of the same pair of instructions:
- First, to identify an issue suggested by a stimulus resource.
- Second, to suggest appropriate management of the issue.
The stimulus material, on which responses will be based, may include maps (OS and other types), written material such as newspaper/magazine extracts, photographs, satellite and other images, diagrams and statistical information.
In section B, candidates must answer two questions. These two must be selected as follows:
- one Environmental issue
- one Economic issue.
Six questions will be set on Environmental issues and six on Economic issues. Two questions will be set on each of the options. These will take the form of a single question and each response should consist of extended writing.
