The history of software development Watch/Listen...
A look at the history of software development. Computers can only understand a binary code but this is very difficult and tedious for human programmers to input. This and a lack of programmers jeopardised the early development of computers. Programming needed to become easier so new 'high level' languages such as FORTRAN and COBOL were developed, which allowed computers to understand a language closer to human communication.

What is Code Anyway? Watch/Listen...
Programming seems like a mystery at first. Programs crash for seemingly no good reason (and always at the worst time!), and it can be hard to figure out how to get the computer to do what we want. Learn about how computers work with code by thinking about how people listen to commands. Understanding the basics of commands makes it easier to understand why programs crash and how debugging works.

What are Objects? Watch/Listen...
Most programs that you will see and create will be in a style called object-oriented programming. Languages like Visual Basic and C# are object-oriented, but they aren't the only ones. Learn how objects work, and you will have an easier time writing programs in many languages.
