Key Stage 4

What is studied at year 10 and 11 in ICT?

All students study ICT in year 10 and 11 as part of their core studies. The course which is followed is the OCR Nationals in ICT Level 2.

Students can also opt to study for a GCSE in Computing as one of their options.

This means that students who select to study Computing can potentially gain two different qualifications in the area of IT.

Can the students work from home?

Yes they can. All of the tasks for the OCR Nationals course are available on the projects page and can he submitted from anywhere with an internet connection. Many of the tasks do require the Microsoft Office applications or specialist software, some of which can be downloaded for free (e.g. Scratch).

All the work for the GCSE Computing course can usually be accessed from both the subject web page or by using document exchange.
