Still collecting sponsorship money.
In response to the images on television and on social media of plastic waste in the ocean pupils from 9E have expressed interest in taking part in a sponsored litter pick in Eye town to raise money for the Marine Conservation Society.
The Marine Conservation Society is the UK’s leading charity for the protection of our seas, shores and wildlife. For over thirty years MCS has been the voice for the sea for all the fascinating creatures that live beneath the waves, for our breath-taking coastal environment, for all those who make a sustainable living from the sea and for everyone who simply enjoys visiting the beach and our glorious coastline. I have attached a flyer for your information.
On Wednesday 11th July, lesson 3&4, pupils from 9E, accompanied by myself and Mrs Clifford will go into Eye town and collect any discarded litter which will be disposed of responsibly. I will provide surgical gloves and bin bags and we also have some high-visibility jackets available to use. Pupils will also be treated to an ice cream for their hard work.
Hartismere School has a proud tradition of supporting 100 charities, so I have attached a Marine Conservation Society sponsorship form if you wish to support us. Any donations received will be sent directly to the charity through the school finance department. We are also hoping that shops and businesses local to Eye will also agree to sponsor us too.
