War Veteran Duncan Slater visited Hartismere today to give an inspirational talk to the school about his experiences in Afghanistan and his recent trek to the South pole with HRH Prince Harry. Whilst here Mr Slater laid the last of 100 ceramic poppies that had been made by students and staff. Each Poppy will be dedicated to an individual local soldier who died in the First World War. We will be selling off the poppies to raise money for Mr Slater's charity 'Walking With The Wounded' and The Royal British Legion. If you are interested in buying one of the poppies please contact Hartismere Art Department. For more information about how the poppies were made have a look at The Making of the Hartismere Poppies.
