Introduction to Shakespeare performance and workshop Wednesday 22 February
The workshop will start at 11.40am, please ask your teacher to be excused at 11.35am and go quickly and quietly to the Lines Hall.
The session explores the cultural background to Shakespeare’s life and
works, as well as covering key excerpts from a selection of plays including Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night and Henry IV. The workshop demystifies the text and explores the play in performance.
This is an exciting opportunity for pupils to experience Shakespeare’s themes and stagecraft; the workshop will support pupils continued learning and engagement with the English curriculum.
