Hartismere Music Festival 2017

Dear Parents/Carers

I write with details of a Hartismere Music Festival, involving a series of events due to take place this June and July.

On Monday 26 June, there will be a Teatime Concert, starting at 5pm and finishing around 6.30pm, in the Lines Hall.  This will involve Year 7 Choir, Junior Band, Violin Group, the ‘Vinten Voices’ and a range of other solo and group items.  There will be a chance to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake whilst enjoying the wide range of musical items on offer!

This will be followed on Thursday 29 June by A Night at the Movies, starting at 7pm and finishing around 8.30pm, in the Lines Hall.  On this occasion, Senior Choir, Orchestra, Brass Band, Jazz Band, Red Glass and a selection of other soloists and ensembles will be performing music featured in a range of films.

Monday 3 July will see the Jazz Band performing a Jazz Evening at the Bank in Eye, starting at 7pm and finishing around 8.30pm.

Finally, on Wednesday 5 July, there will be a Buskers’ Wednesday taking place around school at lunchtime, outside if the weather permits!

Performers should wear school uniform for the ‘Teatime Concert’ and ‘Buskers’ Wednesday’, but can wear their own clothes for ‘A Night at the Movies’ and the ‘Jazz Evening’, ensuring that these are comfortable and appropriate.

Family, friends and supporters are warmly invited to attend the ‘Teatime Concert’, ‘A Night at the Movies’ and the ‘Jazz Evening’.  Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions for each event and will be available from Pupil Services before school, at lunchtime and after school.  They are unreserved and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

I hope that you will be able to join us for one or more of these exciting musical events!

Yours sincerely

Miss LH Scott
