Year 8 animation workshop

This week, some students in year 8 were awarded for their hard work and attainment this year in Art and Textiles classes by being given the opportunity to take part in part in a workshop delivered to them by local author, illustrator, and animation director, Hedley Griffin. After starting his career animating some of the films on the Mr. Men series, Mr Griffin spent 30 years as an animation director, and now self-publishes his own children's books on child safety. For the workshop, however, the students were working on a small, lottery-funded, animation raising awareness for the conservation of bees, illustrating characters and backdrops. Mr Griffin hopes to have the piece finished in the upcoming months, where it will then be sent to many of the primary schools and various other institutions around the country.
