Computer Science KS3 Independent Work | Years 7, 8 and 9

Not in school and want to keep up? Really enjoy computer science and want to learn more?

Below are a selection of resources that we have gathered that are really useful:

  • SENECA Learning
    • Free to sign up (best if you use your school email address)
    • Lots of content on the computer science KS3 course. You can study what you wish, but rough guidance:
      • Year 7 - Online safety & security, Hardware & Software
      • Year 8 - Computational thinking & algorithms, Data
      • Year 9 - Programming, The Internet
  • BBC Bitesize
    • Loads of content here. Study what you want, but rough guidance:
      • Year 7 - Safety & responsibility, Hardware and software
      • Year 8 - Data representation, Computational thinking, Hardware and software
      • Year 9 - Internet communication, Algorithms, Programming
  • Programmers' Independent Workshop
    • A collection of websites and resources to build programming knowledge (will need to be logged into school website)

Remember also that your teacher may choose to assign you work using Google Classroom, so keep an eye on your school email if you miss a lesson.
