STARLIGHT EXPRESS, London. Thursday 2nd October. DETAILS

Thursday October 2025

Troubadour Wembley park theatre

Those who did not attend the meeting yesterday or today. Please check the 'Starlight information checklist' which has important information for Thursday.

What should I wear?

Non-school uniform (casual but not scruffy), sensible shoes, backpack if needed. Weather permitting sun cream, sun hat, raincoat; whichever is appropriate.

What should I bring?

Packed lunch or money for lunch/ program/ ice cream/ drinks and you will need a packed tea.

Mobile phones/ cameras are permitted; however, they are your responsibility and mobile phones MUST be turned off in the theatre.

What time should I ask to be excused from lesson?

For this trip, you will not go to lesson first. You will meet us at the bus bays at 8:50 am for a 9am departure. Make sure you use the toilet before we leave.

Where do we meet?

Bus bays-  travelling by coach

What time should we be back?

We hope to be back by 9pm but bring your mobile phone in case we are delayed so that you can ring parents. Please bear in mind that sometimes we are held up in rush-hour traffic.

What is expected from me?

You are representing the school so excellent behaviour is always expected, on the coach, in the service station and at the theatre.

Mobile phones must be off in the theatre, and you should not be chatting during the performance.

You are not to leave the auditorium during the performance to buy sweets/ drinks and programmes, only during the interval. If you really need to use the toilet during the performance, you need to inform your teacher.

No hot food on the coach

Sometimes you can leave coats and non-valuables on the coach whilst we go into the theatre; this is the discretion of the driver.

All litter (including food and drink) must be removed from the coach before you go home.

Will we be stopping?

Usually, we expect to stop at a service station for a time-limited toilet break on the way to London. You can usually purchase food and drinks here; however, hot food and drinks are not allowed on the coach so must be consumed before you get back on. Any food or drink bought too close to departure time will have to be thrown away if not eaten.

We will also have a 10-minute toilet break on the return journey; however, you will NOT be able to by food and drink during this stop, so make sure you have enough food and drink with you for the return journey.

Lastly, enjoy yourselves- not everyone can go on these trips.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s STARLIGHT EXPRESS is now playing in the specially designed Starlight Auditorium at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. Audiences will be immersed inside a world of speed, song and storytelling as an incredible cast of 40 whizz around and above, performing some of musical theatre’s most beloved songs, including AC/DC, Make Up My Heart, Light at the End of the Tunnel and the iconic Starlight Express.

As a child’s train set magically comes to life and the engines race to become the fastest in the world, Rusty the steam train has little hope of winning until he is inspired by the legend of the ‘Starlight Express’.

Seen around the world by over 30 million people, STARLIGHT EXPRESS is an electrifying experience for all ages.

STARLIGHT EXPRESS has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, is directed by Luke Sheppard (&Juliet, The Little Big Things), with set designer Tim Hatley (Back to the Future), costume designer Gabriella Slade (Six), lighting designer Howard Hudson (&Juliet), sound designer Gareth Owen (MJ the Musical), video designer Andrzej Goulding (Life of Pi), new orchestrations by Matthew Brind with Andrew Lloyd Webber, Musical Supervision by Matthew Brind & David Wilson, Musical Direction by Laura Bangay and Casting by Pearson Casting.

With thrilling new choreography by Ashley Nottingham, STARLIGHT EXPRESS also sees the return of Arlene Phillips as creative dramaturg.

The Starlight Auditorium at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre is a state-of-the-art cultural destination.

Letters will be available from Mrs Davy in the Lines hall from Wednesday 10th September..
