Key Stage three photographs
At the end of each rotation, students are asked to plan and make a balanced dish that demonstrates their independence, organisation, time management and use of skills. The year 7s have to make a snack, the year 8s, a family meal and the year 9s, a takeaway product that meets healthy eating guidelines. They are always so enthusiastic when they take part in this activity and I'm really proud of the results and the progress they have made. It is always interesting to see the range of dishes and ingredients that are used. They have 60 minutes to make the dish and clean up! I tell them that it is good practice for when they have to cook after a long day at work or if they get a job in a restaurant or cafe!
